“ White table cloth quality food and service in a less formal environment. I would have given 5 stars but the restaurant seating, tables and dining room is more diner or fast-food style in my opinion. However, even in this setting, the experience was outstanding. Some of the social media menus that are posted in apps like yelp, showed a few non-traditional meats (Elk, Bison, Ostrich, etc.) on the menu. We were told that those offerings are no longer available and were from a previous chef. Our Dining party tried 6 different Entrees and 4 different appetizers. Every one of these dishes was outstanding. We would definitely return. ”
“ Nice night out with friends. Good was delicious with substantial portions. Wait staff were attentive and polite. Decor is good and there is a side room for large groups. The seating arrangements (tables) are close but not overly packed. I would recommend and return. Food and drink are pricey but it is an upscale restaurant. So be prepared for $$$ and $$$$ ”

“ Mom and I went out to dinner to Rouj at Perkins Rowe tonight. Good food, more than competently prepared. Mom wanted to try the hummous, which was tahini-heavy (which I prefer!) and the flatbread actually had a good Zaatar sprinkled on. Chefs seem to be fairly salt blind across the board these days. The previous three nights at comparable local spots were all marred by extreme saltiness, but it wasn't too salty at Rouj. The art and other decorations in the dining room were original and really thoughtful. I know that in the south, and especially at this time of year, football is a distraction. I dine out for the food, not watching people beat each other up. I'm not a fan of having multiple bright displays flashing inside of the dining room, but there's always French Laundry back home, I guess. The service was fantastic; I loved the server who put me at ease and patiently helped me figure out what I wanted to eat. Very reasonable pricing on our meals, and the creative dishes (a crawfish and cheese thing, butterbeans and tasso....) were really nicely done. ”
“ Rainy Wednesday night in BTR I met a friend for dinner at Rouj. His family are regulars at Rouj and he chose the restaurant - a good choice Environment is upscale but not stuffy and a nice place to grab a happy hour drink We started with the smoked brisket arancini - delicious! Crispy and hot with plenty of gravy to mop up - easily big enuff for 2 to share For entree I had chicken paillard, chicken cutlet, beef dirty rice, haricot verts, tasso cream sauce - honestly one of the best pan fried chicken dishes I've had. Cooked perfectly, not dried out, tasso cream sauce was great! When in BTR Rouj definitely warrants consideration for your dinner needs ”
“ I have to get this eggplant crawfish every time I go. The fried eggplant is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This is hard to get right and they have mastered the sweet spot, for me. The best redfish - a flaky perfection topped with plenty of jumbo lump crab and a delicious butter sauce. ”
“ Rouj Creole is an excellent restaurant for a nice Sunday brunch. I must say the playlist was superb and served as a great background for great conversations over food and drinks. The sangria was perfect! It was delicious and it was a great portion size. I ordered the shrimp and grits in which the grits are purple in color. The waiter made sure to mention this detail upon ordering. The purple grits were phenomenal and the shrimp served as an excellent topper. I can't wait to visit this great establishment again. ”
